YOGI – “Blow You Up” (feat AlunaGeorge & Less Is Moore) [OWSLA]

There are not very many Dj’s that can blend trap and hip hop quite as well as Yogi. Yogi joins the tribe of mind-blowing artists to come out of OWSLA’s factory of hit making machines and has features with some of the hottest rappers in the scene like Pusha T, Casey Veggies and Juicy J. Hailing from London he is one the unique sounding artists coming out of UK’s EDM urban dance scene and is just one of the many talented artists setting the EDM world on fire.

Better know for his song “Burial” ft Pusha TYogi’s track “Blow You Up” shows you a different side of his producing; everyone has a soft side. Yogi recruited none other than the beautiful vocals of AlunaGeorge for this track and I don’t believe anyone could have brought this song together more than her. “Blow You Up” starts off with a little touch of static and high pitched vocal hits, wasting no time bringing in the vibes and quickly jumping into the tropical chords Yogi executes so well. AlunaGeorge captures you with her soft, gorgeous vocals then Yogi brings in the bounce with the deep kicks and soft, tropical chords and vocal distortion, making it hard to keep your body still while being transported to a hot summer day on a tropical island south of Miami.

I love seeing artists usually known for their hard trap or dubstep music switching up the pace and putting their hand in a totally different style genre like Yogi exemplifies so well with this track.
