The organizers at React Presents outdid themselves with the 2017 lineup for Mamby On The Beach. Gathering a melting pot of genres with their artist choices, the festival provides music for any taste.
Dividing the lineup into two sections, most electronic acts will be performing at the MixMag tent. Tchami is headlining on Saturday, along with sets from The Magician, Sam Feldt, Justin Jay, Will Clarke, Fancy Fux and Groove Animal. This is going to be a good night at the beach for any Confession and Dirtybird fans, along with any deep house heads out there.
Sunday is also looking great with 25 years of Relief Records, with a headlining set from Green Velvet. Additional sets will be played from Justin Martin, MK, Lee Foss, Latmun, and locals DJ Heather, DAJAE and Steve Gerard.
The more mainstream lineup for Mamby has MGMT, Local Natives, Miserwives, Miike Snow, Marian Hill and Raury among others on Saturday. Sunday is looking great too with Flying Lotus, Walk the Moon, Todd Terje and the Olsens, Cut Copy, Thundercat, Klingade along with many other acts.
I love the diversity of acts and I am really excited to see MGMT live this year. They were one of my favorite bands growing up and I never got to see them live. EDM Bangers will most likely be at the MixMag tent all night, covering those four-by-four beats and groovy basslines.
Mamby on the Beach is Chicago’s only beach festival, and it has grown a lot since its first year. The MixMag tent was a success last year, which is why they are bringing it back. It really helped with the sound bleed of the stages, but don’t forget to use some earplugs to protect your ears! Last years lineup for Mamby featured acts such as Tycho, Atmosphere, Chromeo, Loco Dice, Shiba San and many more big names in the industry.
