It’s hard to believe that Insomniac’s EDC Las Vegas took place nearly one month ago. From June 16 – 18 we danced Under the Electric Sky for three days with our family and friends. Each year EDC is bigger and better and this year was no disappointment. Altogether new stages, art cars, and surprise guests took headliners on an extraordinary weekend journey. Liquid Stranger B2B Space Jesus B2B Bleep Bloop
Surprisingly this past May one of the pioneers in dubstep, Liquid Stranger, teased fans on Twitter and Instagram that he was scheming a banging B2B2B EDC set with none other than bass enthusiasts Space Jesus and Bleep Bloop! Not to mention on the first night of EDC Las Vegas their production mixed of bass and dubstep drew in a mighty audience of headliners or should I say headbangers. About 30 seconds into the set fluorescent green lasers instantly lured the crowd. All of a sudden mobs of fans were quickly moving towards the fully immersive, bass screeching, 60 ft tall bassPods. The synchronization of lasers and exhausting fire definitely made the experience unforgettable. Bangers took appreciation to the iconic, futuristic, fire-breathing robot pod that is dedicated to all different genres within bass music. After all this was the last time the pod would be used at EDC Las Vegas.
As a self proclaiming fellow basshead, I can’t speak enough about the bone melting tracks that Liquid Stranger, Space Jesus and Bleep Bloop blessed our eardrums with. In essence the set featured everything bassly imaginable from Bleep Bloop’s “Venom” to “Spaceboss” ft. Space Jesus from the “Weird & Wonderful” Liquid Stranger album, to mixes of highly recognizable rap hits that turned the dance floor into a trap rager. In brief these haunting anthems brought the vibe even deeper when friends like G Jones hit the stage. All in all they continued to mix in that new wave of bass music until the last second.
