Yellow Claw is an EDM duo based out of Amsterdam, Netherlands. The group consists of members Jim Taihuttu and Nils Rondhuis. They have been around since 2010 but gained a majority of their popularity in 2013 when they were noticed by Diplo and decided to sign to the Mad Decent label. Yellow Claw fit in perfectly on Mad Decent’s label with their trap/EDM fusion style. The group then made a splash onto the EDM scene with their hit album, “Blood For Mercy.” The album features some A-list artists including, Becky G, DJ Mustard, Flux Pavilion, Pusha T, Tyga, Ty Dolla $ign and Tiesto.
Yellow Claw is also a member of the popular label, Spinnin’ Records. Right now, they also have new singles out now titled, “Love & War,” “Good Day” and most recently “Stacks.” These new singles include a crazy amount of A-list artists like, Quavo, DJ Snake, Tinie Temprah, Yade Lauren and Elliphant. The group has defiantly made a big splash in 2017 and looks to continue that and attract more fans in the future.
Spring break is everyone’s favorite break of the year and where better to spend it than Panama City, Florida. Panama City has been titled, “The Spring Break Capital of The World,” for college students. Who better to see at the spring break capital of the world then Yellow Claw. Their trap/EDM fusion style embodies the spring break college vibe perfectly. The group performed on March 16, 2017, at the biggest nightclub in the United States, Club La Vela. If none of these factors listed above couldn’t convince you enough to go then I do not know what would.
Yellow Claw absolutely killed it at Club La Vela! They had everyone jumping up and down the whole night. The group played all their new singles to enormous cheers and applause. Their transitions in between songs were flawless and Yellow Claw remixed other artist’s songs during their set to perfection. With every drop, the whole club went nuts and the group definitely got the audience involved. When their set eventually ended the group did so well that they were brought on for an encore song. Yellow Claw not only killed Club La Vela, but gave all the college students at Panama City on spring break a memory that will last forever.
